Park Point Beach House

Located on Duluth's Park Point Beach with beautiful views of Lake Superior.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RENTING
THE PARK POINT BEACH HOUSE

On the date of your rental of the Park Point Beach House you will have access to:
- 200 wedding style white chairs along with 20+ 5' round tables and 8 banquet tables
- ladders for installing decorations
- a cart to ferry items form the parking area
- a bar and kitchen area
- 3 refrigerators 
- 2 microwaves
- free WIFI
- a wall hanging movie screen
 - 4 chafing dishes with hotel pans.  Need Sterno type heat.
- a 20' accordion wall for separation or display(pins allowed)
- cleaning supplies for post event cleanup
- included with the rental is the patio outside the building towards the water
- access road in front of building for setup and tear-down
Additional items that you can rent:
- Ice machine $25 per day
- Beach games $35 per day
 
• A Beach House Event Host will be assigned to work in the facility for the duration of your event.  The Event Host will meet you at the Beach House at the start time of your rental to open the gate to the Rec Area as well as unlock the building. 
• The entry time you requested is the time you are allowed to enter the facility for the event.  Early entry is not allowed unless you make a formal reservation.  It should not be assumed that arriving early will grant you entry to the facility as there could be a reservation before yours and/or the facility may be locked. 
• The exit time you requested is the time you are required to be out of the facility.  Not vacating the facility at the designated exit time will result in forfeiture of the damage deposit and you will be billed additional rental fees. 
• If you are working with vendors they are required to enter and exit the building during the rental times.  If your vendors need additional time for set-up and/or tear-down it is your responsibility to extend your rental reservation. 
• If you are considering extending the reservation hours, you are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.  Reservation extensions will only be accommodated more than two weeks before the rental.  Requests for a reservation extension less than 2 weeks before a rental will not be accommodated. 
 
BEACH HOUSE EVENT HOST 
There will be an Event Host assigned to work at the Beach House for the duration of your rental.  Their main responsibilities are to service the facility during your event, grant access to locked spaces (building and gates) and ensure rental policies are being followed. The Event Host will…
• Meet you or your vendor at the Beach House at the entry time of your reservation to unlock the building. 
• Unlock the gate, giving you access to drive up to the facility to drop-off and pick-up event supplies. 
• If you have guests that may need assistance getting to the Beach House, the Event Host will unlock the gate so the guest may be dropped off and picked up at the bottom of the stairs.  This service is only for guests that need assistance.  All other guests are required to walk to the Beach House from the parking lot. 
• Show you around the space, ensuring you know where to find tables/chairs, fans, kitchen amenities, step stools, etc. 
• If you are having a dance floor space and would like the lights turned off, the Event Host will manage the lights at your request. 
• Service the restrooms and garbage cans during the event. 
• Tend to any emergencies and ensure no damage comes to the building. 
• Be stationed in the office for most of the event.  They will occasionally go off property, in that case they will leave you with a cell number.   
 
The Event Host will not…
• Set-up for your event.  All set-up is your responsibility.  This includes setting up tables and chairs. 
• Tear-down for your event.  The only exception to this is if you have opted to pay for the Full Service Clean-Up. 
• Provide table service (serving or table clearing) for meals. 
• Flip a room in the middle of an event.  For example they will not take down chairs from a wedding service and put up tables for a reception. 
• Allow alcohol service unless all requirements of the Alcohol Consumption Permit have been met. 
 
CLEAN UP OPTION 
The clean-up option are you do it or pay $500 and we do it.  
 All clean-up must be completed by the end of your rental time.  Cleaning supplies will be provided by the Event Host.  
The following are your responsibilities. 
o Wipe down tables and counter tops.  
o Empty all items from the fridge and beverage cooler and wipe out if needed. 
o Sweep floors and spot mop where needed. 
o Event Host will let you know if any tables and chairs can remain set up.  Otherwise you are responsible for taking down all tables and chairs. 
o Remove all personal items from the facility, including decorations and all items supplied by vendors. 
o If you would like to change the clean-up option to Full Service or Next-Day it must be done no later than 30-days in advance of the event.   A request closer to the event would be considered only if there is no conflicts with events the next day,
 
TABLES & CHAIRS 
• Chairs are NOT allowed outside the building.  If you are planning on a seated wedding service on the patio or beach, you are responsible for bringing in your own chairs or those secured from a vendor.  There are no exceptions to this policy.  It is strictly enforced. 
• The only tables allowed outside the building are the black pub tables.
   
DECORATIONS 
• Decorations are not allowed to be tacked, nailed, stapled or taped to the walls or ceiling.  There are hooks placed around the facility for hanging decorations every 4'.  If additional hangings are needed you can provide and remove your own command strips. 
• No decorations are allowed on the white ceiling. • Candles with flames are not allowed for decorations.  The only exception is a lit candle for a ceremony.  Upon commencement of the ceremony the candle must be put out. 
• Confetti and glitter are not allowed in the Beach House.  
 
YARD GAMES 
• If you have selected to add on access to yard games during your Beach House Rental the Event Host working in the building will give you access to the games during the rental times. We ask that you and/or your attendees that are using the games to return them after their use. Damage or lost games will be billed to you as the renter.  
 
ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION PERMIT • If you intend to have alcohol at your event then you must secure an Alcohol Consumption Permit for your event at the Beach House.  Refer to the Alcohol Consumption Information about securing that permit.  Alcohol consumption is only allowed when the permit is secured. 
Alcohol Consumption Permit Guidelines City code states that alcohol service and/or consumption is not allowed on park property unless an Alcohol Consumption Permit has been secured. This policy is strictly enforced at the Park Point Beach House. If an Alcohol Consumption Permit has not been secured for your event and guests are found to be in possession of and/or consuming alcohol they will be asked to leave and/or your event may be shut down. Additionally the Police Department can be called.
Alcohol Consumption Permits must be secured no later than 30-days in advance of the event. Permit requests submitted less than 30 days in advance of the event may be denied. When determining which permit to apply for take into consideration the number of attendees is the total number of people attending the event, this includes children and those that do not drink alcohol. 
1-100 Guests: Only the permit needs to be secured. 
100+ Guests: Permittee is required to secure event insurance. Secure event insurance with the following requirements 
o The minimum amount of General Liability policy shall be $1,000,000 each occurrence. 
o A “Certificate of Insurance” listing the City of Duluth as the additional insured and certificate holder, along with the Park Point Beach House, Lou Campbell Productions, event name and event date. Certificate Holder should be listed as: City of Duluth 411 West 1st St Duluth, MN 55802 
o Certificate can be  emailed to lou@parkpointbeachhouse.com
o TIP: You can check with an insurance provider that you already use or there are insurance companies online that provide event insurance for such activities. While we don’t have a preferred vendor for event insurance, theeventhelper.com is often used. Sections of these policies are enforceable by City Ordinances and State Statutes: Duluth City Code: Chapter 8 Article I Sec. 35-8, 9 | MN State Statute: 340A101, 340A.414
